Strong visuals help businesses connect with their audience. From products and branding to advertising campaigns and marketing materials, I create commercial photography that reflects your company’s identity and communicates your message with clarity, creativity, and professionalism.
Normally when someone asks how much photography will cost I say it really depends on what you’re looking for. But never is that more true than when it comes to commercial photography. There are SOOOO many factors to consider. How many photos are you wanting done? What is the location you want? Does the location need permits to shoot there? Do we need a specific studio space? Do you need models? What technical requirements might be needed like props, and lighting, and effects are needed? Is this a product that you can repackage and resell after being photographed or will this count against your inventory? What kind of license needs are you requiring of these images? Do we need to bring on a fashion stylist or product stylist? How many assistants might I need to bring on if any? The list goes on and on, but in short you are looking from about $500-$5000 on average and it could range in the tens of thousands depending on the production.
There are many ways to price commercial shoots. I like to find out all the details and then come up with a way to price it so it’s most affordable to you. Sometimes just paying for an hourly rate is best because it might only take an hour or two to shoot and you’re just using the images for some social media and website usage. Sometimes it’s going to take several hours and so a day rate is a better option because the hourly would exceed my day rate cost. Hourly is $500 /hr and day rate is $2500-3500. On top of that sometimes there are added editing fees if the images are going to require extensive work afterwards which is about $100 /hr. And as for licensing fees this has it’s own laundry list of factors that we will just have to discuss and go over. All that being said I always try and consider peoples budgets as well. I’ll always quote you and if your budget is different I can come up with some creative ways to try and match that budget and still provide fairly close to what you were wanting.
Can I handle all of those things? YES… Do you want me to handle all of those things? NO. And here’s why. There is already so much going on with some shoots that it is best to hire a production company to make sure everything runs smoothly and nothing is forgotten. There can be as many as 10-20 people on set sometimes at a commercial shoot, and as much as I would like to say I could do all of that, there’s obviously many things that I don’t do like hair and make up, and all it does it make things take longer and risk the quality of the images. So hiring a production company is never a bad idea for certain big projects.
In this day and age...Sure you can. But should you? That depends. Do you have access to a professional image generator account? Do you know how to prompt things properly to ensure you get the image desired? Do you have the time to sit tweaking the prompts over and over until you get the image you are looking for? And lastly is AI generated images what you want to put out or are you looking for a more genuine image to represent you to your audience. For instance I am working closely with a horse shoeing company creating curriculum for them to sell to schools and AI generated images and videos just aren’t able to get exactly what they need. These photos need to be so specific in every single detail to ensure that it is able to teach how to handle every single situation. There’s just no way to write a prompt that can show every single challenge and situation these farriers have to face. So in many cases it is still best to bring on a professional.
